ANOTHER GREAT AWAY DAY AS BRECK MANAGE THE SLOPE

Another outstanding away performance last night beating Colne away 3-0.

Started the game well but by choosing to play up the hill first half we knew Colne were going to try put us on the back foot using the slope and there pace out wide to get in behind, but for the best part we dealt with them moments without Theo having to make a save of note.

We was having some good moments ourselves the best seeing Connor McCarthy laying one of for James Murphy sadly Spud couldn’t keep it down and blazed over.

We got what I’d say was a deserved opening goal after Liam Morris and James Murphy worked the ball out well on the right hand side and after cracking delivery from Spud, Anthony Walsh headed home at the back post for his first Breck goal.

You could see the confidence rise in the lads and we ended the half well.

HT 1-0

We started the second half a little slower than we would have liked but we soon got a grip on it and we then got our second through another header, this time the salmon like Godwin Adabaki powered home after a majestic cross from Liam Morris (on his weaker foot also).

We was well and truly on the front foot now and the football was being played all in Colne’s half and the game was wrapped up when Regan Jarrett cut in from the right hand side and laid it into the returning Connor McCarthy’s path and from around 25 yards out Connor unleashed a hit into the bottom right hand corner leaving the keeper with no chance.

Plenty of great opportunities late on with Jordan Shannon & Shay Stansfield putting in big shifts when they were introduced and the lads grafted hard to give us a big 3 points and clean sheet.

For me it was near faultless performance with so many positives to take from the game especially seeing two 18 year old lads playing at centre half and shutting out a number 9 who has been scoring plenty of the scoresheet.

Montage Memorabilia MOM once again went to Bobby Walsh who was class at left back and put in his typical body on the performance throughout, Josh Murray also pushed for the vote with a classy showing also and we could say that about many more.

Not conceded a goal in open play for three games shows the lads our grafting for each other and with the clubs skipper and vice unavailable last night shows we have lads to step up when needed.
