Another First As We Win At Skembonda...

Straight back to winning ways yesterday as we beat Skem United 3-1 away.

Dominated possession for the opening 20 plus minutes with the lads having to stay patient against a dangerous Skem side sitting in and looking to counter.

The opener came with great work/hold up play from Lewis Buckley who laid it off for Tom Douglas who in turn hit a great low strike on goal, the keeper getting a strong hand to it but to it but it wasn’t strong enough.

Once again we had to stay patient and it was near two nil after a cracking move seen us link up around 30 passes, the finale seen Bucko thwarted by the legs of the Skem keeper with the final shot.

Skem started to have some moments in our half but without Theo being called into action as just on the stroke of half time it was two.

It was quality from Breck from front to back, Mooney laid it to Fisnik who dropped the shoulder on two players in the middle of the park before feeding Bobby Walsh who delivered a peach for for Bucko who headed home at the back post.

HT 2-0

We had some good chances early in the second half with the impressive Tom Douglas having a good chance before James Murphy had a touch and hit moment forcing the keeper into a save he could only spill, Owen Collinge followed it up but it was comfty for the keeper.

After a ball from Tom Mitchell caused problems for the Skem defence , Spud Murphy jumped on it and fed Tom Douglas who seen his his first attempt saved and spilled but his quick reaction seen him finish it off to grab his second of the game.

A misjudged mistake from Bobby Walsh let Skem in and after a cut back it was 3-1 with our hosts back in a game that they really shouldn’t have been and they kept knocking but with them wide open to the counter we could and should killed the game off but 3-1 was enough.

FT 3-1

Not a vintage performance but a winning one against a good side fighting for there premier division lives.

Montage Memorabilia went to Fisnik Hajdari who was calm and composed throughout and kept us ticking when patience was needed…??
As always a massive thanks to those braved the conditions to show their support, much appreciated as always.

Back at home Saturday when we welcome Irlam to the Anny, hope you can come and join us.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…❤️
