Another Win On The Road As Breck Come From Behind...

Another great away day and win yesterday coming from behind to beat Longridge Town 2-1 and in doing so getting our first win over at there place (after some slappings over the years).

Could have been three up in the opening ten minutes with Connor Millington, Lewis Buckley & James Murphy all having great chances, Bucko & Spud seeing there chances thwarted by stunning saves from the Town keeper.

Town got a goal against the run of play and a cracking finish it was with a ball being delivered from the left it was met by the instep of the town number ten and it was 1-0 Town , great ball and finish.

We huffed and puffed for the rest of the half having some opportunity’s, but mostly hit high to wide and with Town playing a high line and us a little slow moving the ball a little frustration crept into the lads.

HT 0-1

Second half needed to better and we started well and once again had seen a few chances go begging, the best of them seen great work from Bucko, who brought Liam Morris into play and with the goal being wide open he could only drag his shot wide.

A cracking bit of football seen us get a deserved equaliser, Tom Mitchell calm and composed in possession laid the ball off to Morris who in turn fed Fisnik Hajdari who was equally composed inside the box and after creating a yard he laid it off to Spud Murphy who sent home a cracking left foooted finish to get us level.

Two glorious chances followed in quick succession, Bucko first going close and Fitzy at the back post meeting a Liam Morris ball but he was stretching and couldn’t get any decent connection on it.

The winner came from Lewis Buckley who latched on to a Morris through ball and after steadying himself buried it in the bottom corner.
90+ and Town had a unbelievable chance to grab a equaliser, with a shot flashed across goal it was somehow turned over the bar from yards out when it looked harder to miss.

Game management for the remaining minutes of the game and it was another 3pts on the road for the Breck.

FT 2-1

Not a vintage Breck performance by any stretch but to go to Longridge and get a result ain’t easy as we have found in the past, but this group of lads have really stepped up in recent weeks and they come away with another result we deserved overall.

Montage Memorabilia went to Tom Mitchell who has been outstanding in his first two games in a Breck shirt, playing out of position and doing it without a grumble and doing it with leadership also says it all about Mitch ????

Liam Morris & Fisnik Hajdari also raided there performance levels as the game went on…??

Massive thanks to those who travelled with us once again, great to reward your efforts supporting the club with another away win and it’s now onto Ramsbottom Tuesday night for our third away game on the spin, as we look to end the month of January with another big performance.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…⚽️❤️
