Controversial But Correct Call As Net Ripples...

A hard fought 3pts on the road today coming away from Pilkington with a 1-0 win.

First half wasn’t exactly exciting but it wasn’t boring either and for the best part we was largely dominant with the ball and was playing some quality stuff but still needed a good save from Paddy Wharton to keep us level at the break.

HT 0-0

Second half was looking like a game of if and when can we get the first goal as we was going forward with real quality but the moves just kept breaking down but we was looking a threat.

Similar to the first half we needed a Paddy Wharton save to keep us level and what a save it was, going low down to his near post he produced a stunning save with a strong palm tipping a powerful shot away when a certain goal looked on.

It wasn’t long after we got the opening goal and winner and it was slightly controversial but the correct decision all said.

After some great build up play Liam Morris unleashed a shot from 20+ yards out and as it hit the bottom corner it came flying out the side of the net and in seeing that the referee signaled for a corner.!

With the lads questioning the decision and the referee checking the net he then sought advice from his two assistants and after a long delay the goal was given.

The correct call and the Pilkington management agreed but on another day you would have seen it ruled out so fair play to the team of officials.
Pilks pushed for a equaliser whilst we was managing the game brilliantly and should have wrapped it up when Lewis Buckley had a great chance but it was one tough too many.

FT 1-0

On the balance of play a deserving 3 points for me but Pilks still had some great chances and probably better ones than us but we was dominate with the ball and was always a threat going forward.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Paddy Wharton who pulled off a stunning save at a crucial point in the game which was just as good as a goal…??

A mention for Liam Morris who was quality in the middle of the park also and got the goal to back up his showing…??

As always thanks to today who followed us on the road once again, a depleted away day following but great to reward those with us once again…❤️

Were away to Ramsbottom United on Saturday afternoon as we look to make it a perfect run of festive results to take into the new year, hope you can come join us on the road.

We Go Again…

Up The Breck…❤️
