GREAT WIN BEFORE THE BIG MAN LANDS

Another very good performance and win beating a very good West Didsbury side 3-1.

Started the game well with nice passages of play, but we got a little to cute down the left hand side and after Mooney clearance was mis-controlled and pounced on West broke on us and get themselves the lead with a well taken finish.

The lads looked a little flat but in truth wasn’t doing too much wrong as we was creating plenty of chances, Connor Millo scuffing a chance wide after a great run and then a Didsbury defender hit his own post with a clearance and it was going to take a little spark or indeed luck to get us going properly and it was luck that it came via.

A pumped in freekick from Mooney seen Connor Millo challenge for the header and it came of the defenders head/shoulder and straight into the net to draw us level in the 38 minute.

Just 4 minutes later we was infront and it was the combination of Connor McCarthy and Lewis Buckley that brought the goal.

A great press from the lads as West tried to play out resulted in Connor McCarthy pinching the ball and after sliding a ball through for Lewis It was a composed finish to take us into the half 2-1 up.

HT 2-1

Second half we was good and should have killed the game off with Salkled, Murphy & Buckley all going close but we also had to withstand some nervey moments at the other end as Paddy was forced into a couple of important saves one a finger tipped effort to deflect it over.

The killer third goal seen great link up once again with Bucko moving the ball out wide for James Murphy who dropped a shoulder on two players and delivered a sumptuous ball for Walshy who’s first touch beat the keeper and gave us that all important two goal cushion going into the last ten minutes.

The lads seen out any later threat and got what was a deserved win for me and in doing so played some very good footy once again.

Another very good performance from the lads and you can see them growing in confidence with every game and we look dangerous with the ball at our feet with options all over.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Connor Millington who for 70/80 minutes was outstanding in and out of possession, a quality showing from Millo…????
