It Will Even Itself Out They Say...!!!

Another game slipped away yesterday beaten 2-1 at Prestwich Heys when bare minimum we have to take a point.

First half wasn’t the greatest in all honesty but a goal on the stroke of half time from James Murphy via a deflection saved some blushes from a first half when we was second best but in truth not under any great pressure.

HT 1-0

Second half for 15/20 minutes we looked most likely the side who would be wrapping the game up.

A shocking tackle on Spud should have seen a Heys player dismissed but only a red was shown, which was quickly followed by Spud beating a man inside the box and then taken out with the outstretched leg the referee deeming there to be no contact at all but then not booking Spud for diving, a truly poor decision following on from the non red.

It was are turn to make the awful decision when Spud on the front foot driving in on goal had two men to square it too but he chose to shoot which was the wrong option any day of the week.

As luck as gone for us the man in the middle then gave Heys a penalty when Owen Jones was adjudged to have taken the man out once again very little contact but you have seen them given.

We then had a good passage of play but turned the ball over inside our half, a poor decision from Shay to not hook it way resulted in a foul beifn given and you can guess the rest it was up and over into the bottom corner.

We had a glorious chance to get at least a point when Lewis Buckley bent a shot to the the far left corner but it want agonizingly over.

FT 1-2

Another game we come away from with nothing and another day when poor decision making not just from the match official has cost us and we have to address those once again.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Paul Mooney who was solid throughout, not losing a header during the battle and was good enough for the vote.

As always thank you to those who could make the game your support as always was greatly appreciated.

Next up it’s City Of Liverpool in Senior Cup action on Tuesday night which is quickly followed by our last home game of 2023 when we face West Didsbury on Saturday.

We hope you can come join us.

We Go Again.
