LAST GRASP POINT BUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALL THREE...AGAIN...!

A much better performance yesterday at home to Charnock Richard and we should have wrapped the three points up before near throwing them away, 2-2 the final score.

First half we was comfortably and moving the ball around with confidence and looking the likely of the two sides to be getting a goal, with Connor McCarthy, Adam Pepper having half chances before Connor Mc then had a glorious opportunity to give us the lead, capitalizing on sloppy play at the back of the Richard defence but Connor somehow scuffed his effort wide and within 30 seconds Charnock had there best and only chance of the half going straight on the other end forcing Theo into a classy save to spare Breck blushes.

We managed to get the goal our first half performance deserved and a stunning strike it was from Adam Pepper who drilled one in the top corner from 20+ yards out.

HT 1-0

Second half was much like the first with us playing some decent football on the floor and creating chances, Connor McCarthy creating one moment for himself and hitting the bar from the half way line (some goal that would have been), Tom McNamara had the easiest chance to give us a two goal cushion slashing at a chance on his left foot and flashing it wide.

Charnock were having good moments themselves with the moan threat being from crosses into the box with two great opportunities being missed.

There keeper was sin binned with just over ten minutes remaining and to our frustration we dropped off a level and with tired legs needing replacing that didn’t get upto the speed of the game we invited pressure and it told in the 92nd minute as a another cross was this time diverted home.

With 9 minutes added time, Charnock keeper returned and within a minute they was in the lead, a ball out from the back being intercepted and a quick break and ball in behind seen Theo come out and rounded and the finish was applied.

Deflated but not defeated we go up the other end and score within a minute, Connor McCarthy being put in somehow and his first attempt hit the post but he made no mistake with the rebound.

With 4 minutes remaining of added time it looked like it could be anyone’s but the referee blew his whistle with 3 of those minutes still remaining.

As said a much better performance from the lads but just when we needed to close the door we opened them wider and got punished but we still have to take the positives.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Connor Mccarthy who was a threat throughout and got a goal late on that his performance certainly deserved.

Sadly yesterday was our lowest gate of the campaign so far, but to those who could make it we appreciate the support as always and hope to see you all Thursday night as we welcome Isle Of Man to the Anny.
