Another disappointing day as we was beaten 4-2 at Wythenshaw but once again how we come away with nothing is beyond me.
First half was all us with the Wythenshaw keeper keeping them init with 2/3 good saves and then we had a perfectly good goal disallowed after the keeper spilt one and as it was scrambled over the line somehow it was disallowed.
We got the deserved opener in similar circumstances with a shot being parried and Tom McNamara was on hand to grab his 4th goal in the last 3 games.
Wythenshaw started to have a go but it was a dominant half from us.
HT 1-0
Within one minute of the restart that lead was gone, lads switching off and being punished, Theo making a good save only to see the rebound hit the net.
We got back on it and it wasn’t long before we got ourselves back in front, with Connor Rankin sending one home that the keeper tried his best to keep out but it was 100% over the line.
We was looking good once again, but once again a soft goal is given away with a diagonal ball being sent across the pitch and with a nothing cross not being judged/dealt with we found ourselves pegged back once again.
Tired legs seen us have to make all our substitutions and we lost any attacking threat we was having but that had no impact on the goal that killed the game.
A shocking decision to award a penalty in the 95th minute going against us and then when we sent everyone up for the last attack it was curtains with the fourth.
FT 2-4
From a managers point of view I’ve gotta look at the goals conceded first and for me no question they was poor, but I’ve also gotta back these players and what we seen go against them yesterday in terms of the decisions , we all make mistakes and those in control made more than my lads and we shall leave it there.
Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Danny McKenna who put in a great shift in the middle of the park, great to see him at the heart of the performance. ??
Thanks to those who traveled with us yesterday your support as always on the road is more than appreciated.
Next up it’s Friday night football at the Anny as we host Burscough 8pm kick off.
We Go Again.
Up The Breck…❤️
