Mcnamara Double Not Enough For Three...

Absolutely gutted to leave West Didsbury without a point or even all three last night as we went down 3-2 and to a late 94th minute winner.
A depleted side with no fewer than 6 play Absolutely gutted to leave West Didsbury without a point or even all three last night as we went down 3-2 and to a late 94th minute winner.

A depleted side with no fewer than 6 players missing from Saturdays squad we knew it would be a tough ask but the lads came outta the blocks flying and had three opportunities before eventually taking the lead with Bobby Walsh & Liam Morris delivering quality balls for Jordan Shannon (header) & Tom Mc before Danny McKenna seen his effort skim just past the post.

It was Bobby Walsh with another assist that helped give us take the lead, with a majestic ball being hung up for the returning Tom McNamara who looped a header over the keeper to give us a deserved lead.

We was dominant and doing our jobs well all over but it was a great block that seen West Didsbury get the equalizer with the rebound looping in the air and it was sent home with a cracking strike it had to be said and they helped to get West’s tails up and they could have had a second late in the half but Theo stood tall with a great one on one save.

HT 1-1

The start to the second half wasn’t like the first and with some very sloppy play on two or three occasions within a minute of the restart, and we found ourselves behind and it was scrappy at best and all our own doing.

The lads rallied and get ourselves back in the game and it was the highly impressive Levi Chiduku creating the danger and after cutting in from the left hand side he seen his shot come back of the post and Tom McNamara was on hand to tap it home.
The game went quite for a spell before Chiduku lit it back up with some outstanding skill and he was unlucky to not see any return from his attempt that followed and we then see a ball fizzed across the box with two chances blocked from close range, Tom Mc & Jordan Shannon having great chances.

West had a great chance also but it was Josh Murray putting his body on the line for what looked like a certain goal.

94th minute and looked like a good away point but West got a poor free kick 5 yards inside there own half and with two players going down, one jumped up to carry on while we lost one who required treatment and had to leave the pitch.

The resulting free kick was put into the box and for the life of me how we haven’t dealt with it from keeper to defenders or as a team (vocally) is beyond me as we let a ball travel 55m, to then land and bounce with it skimming of the surface, hitting the bar and being headed home (a really poor goal to lose a game of football to).

FT 2-3

So hard to be critical with a depleted Breck side deserving more than we got but in two big moments (restart/last kick) we let ourselves down and it’s down to individual errors and it’s cost us climbing the table two positions with what would have been a deserved point.
Montage Memorabilia Liam Morris who was top draw again at right back but he was certainly pushed all the way by Levi Chiduku who was excellent on the wing tonight and Tom McNamara who returned to the side after holiday with two goals.

Thanks to those who could make the trip as always we appreciate the support once again folks.

It’s Prestwich Heys at home on Saturday as we look to finish what’s been a better month with a big home performance.

We Go Again.

Up The Breck…❤️
