The Cage Takes Another Prisoner...

Another massive performance from the lads to beat Bury 2-1 yesterday.

First half we was outstanding and we got ourselves a well deserved two nil lead.

The first goal was a excellent team move that finished with a quality Bobby Walsh delivery being guided home by a Anthony Walsh finish that matched that ball.

Our second came after a James Murphy corner was flapped at by the Bury keeper and Connor Rankin somehow wrapped his leg around it and hooked it over all the bodies in front of him, another cracking finish.

The rest of the half was game management, and it was so good to see the lads not only work hard all over the pitch but do the right things with the ball when needed, a near perfect half of football from our point of view.

HT 2-0

For the opening 20 minutes of the first half it was a similar pattern to the first with Bury huffing and puffing to create with there best chance seeing Theo being called into action, making a classy save but the flag went up anyways.

Then the opportunity Bury has been waiting for when Connor Millington took a touch inside the box and as he went to clear he kicked the Bury man for a stonewall penalty, which was dispatched.

As a expected the onslaught came from Bury but we did have our moments but it was a case of trying to see the game out and through pure graft all over the park, body’s on the line and some brave defending inside our box we seen the game out for a more than deserved win.

FT 2-1

Once again outstanding to a man and the lads were exceptional today in all they done, from dominating first half to digging in during that second it was another big performance, no goals conceded in open play in the last four games shows you how hard we working as a team.

Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Owen Jones who went up against a unit in the Bury big man and Owen won his battle and won it well, another impressive performance from the 18 year old and with another 18 year old alongside him in Josh Murray (outstanding performances).

A massive thanks to those from Bury who traveled for the game, sadly not the travelling numbers they have took elsewhere but still a excellent turnout, and it goes without saying a humongous thank you to our home support once again who deserved that performance/result.

Also to all our volunteers who stepped up on the day, obviously we planned for double the crowd so had to step up in all areas and it was a week of preparation that was draining to say the least but on the day we couldn’t ask for anymore from those who volunteered to help…Thank you.

Back at it Thursday night as we welcome Cheadle Town to the Anny when we hope to see another big crowd in attendance as we look to keep this great form going.

We Go Again.
