HANGOVER FOR BRECK IN DEFEAT

Another patchy performance littered with mistakes that cost us as we was beaten 3-2 last night at Burscough.

Nothing much in the game for 40 minutes with us having half chances and our hosts very little and if truth it was sloppiness from both that was the main attraction.

It was poor defensive work from ourselves that led to Burscough going ahead, a half arsed attempt to clear a ball and another player not protecting it when facing his own goal seen the greens able to get a shot of and cracking strike it was.

A near instant reaction seen us going up the left hand side and after cut back to the edge of the box Connor Millington slotted into the bottom corner.

HT 1-1

Another good halftime team talk had some form of response and we dominated the ball for next 25 minutes and got a deserved goal with MOM James Murphy working hard to get the ball back and cutting it across the face of goal for Connor Rankin to tap in.

Some poor decision making was to cost us once again as we turned over possession way too easy and after letting Burscough take a throw in unopposed they broke on us and after stupid tackle was put in on the edge of the box Theo was then beaten too easy by the freekick on his side.

To compound that another awful mistake in the middle of the park when in complete control of the football seen the ball gifted to our hosts ans they countered and punished us with a cut back/tap in.

Nothing of note followed and we lost a game we should never be losing (sound familiar).

FT 2-3

Been a eye opening pair of league games with lads not putting in the performance of pre season with the ball and not sticking to all we have worked on, we can use missing 3/4 lads in both games as a excuse but we have built a squad to have cover for each and every player and just at the moment it’s not clicking.

Once we find that fluidity again no question we will be good but we do have to find it quickly so were not left behind in the early part of the campaign.
