Mcnamara Steals The Show With Energetic Showing...

A perfect performance to bounce back from our midweek disappointment beating Penistone Church 3-0 in the FA Vase.

A depleted squad with no fewer than seven lads unavailable and with two lads on the bench with only a 50% chance of playing we was up against it but the lads selected stepped right up.

First half we was largely dominant with the ball and the chances also but it wasn’t till the opening of the second half we got our rewards.

HT 0-0
Within a minute of the second half we was two nil up with a quick fire boom boom combo.

The first goal came after James Edgar was fouled 25 yards out and all credit to the match official he let the play continue and Tom McNamara took advantage and hit a absolute gem into the keepers far corner (a stunning strike).

Edgar was involved again 40 seconds later sending a ball through for the constant threat James Murphy who went in on goal and sent home a well taken finish.

A change of formation for Penistone seen them become more of a threat and they had a glorious chance to get back into the game after a moment of stupidity from Fitzy seen him react to a shove with a little kick out and the referee pointed to the spot.

Theo Roberts pulled of a first class save to keep our two goal lead in tact and save the blushes for Fitzy on his debut but it was a moment of magic from him that wrapped the game up.

After some quality work from Jordan Shannon he fed Mick Fitz on the edge of the box and he sent a simply stunning strike bar and in, a cracking goal to cap his impressive debut.

FT 3-0

A professional performance from the lads today and a perfect response to what was demanded of them today.
Montage Memorabilia MOM went to Tom McNamara who was outstanding today and got himself a sublime goal also…Energy, work rate, hunger, desire all we ask and Tom gave us all of that today.
